Chrysler introduced the 68RFE in 2007 for their Cummins-powered 3/4 & 1-ton trucks. It is of the same basic design as Chrysler's 545RFE, but modified for higher torque capacity for its use with Diesel engines. Some modifications done to these units for durability and longevity:

  • 100% new bushings

  • 100% Milled stator & pump body - high wear area

  • 100% valve body replacement - newer design

  • Updated to latest Chrysler build specs

  • New single-sided Borg Warner clutches for increased torque and thermal capacity

  • Custom overdrive pressure plate that adds 2 more clutches for 15% more holding capacity

  • Custom valve body kit to generate 30% more line pressure with triple separator plates and extra-long bolts to compensate for case flex during high torque load

  • New TCC Accumulator Valve and Sleeve

  • New Pressure Regulator Valve Assembly - maintains line pressure consistency

  • Ream and install oversized solenoid switch valve

  • Precision supplied Billet converter with 100% new clutch, hub, and bearings
